Vipiteno knows no boredom
It’s impossible to sum up the activities on offer in Vipiteno in just a few lines. Snow sports are all the rage in the winter months, while the summer season is given over to hikes and mountain-bike tours.
Shopping fans can enjoy a wealth of stylish boutiques, craft shops and traditional food stores, while culture enthusiasts can head out and explore the city’s rich artistic heritage with its centuries of historic legacy. If you love street events and folk festivals, you can look forward to the lantern festivals in July and August, the Red Carpet in September and October, and the Krampus “Devil’s Parade” on St. Nicholas Day. All year round, good food and good wine reign supreme at the Canederli Festival of bread dumplings, the farmers’ markets and the harvest festival.
Amongst all of the wealth of activities, the most highly-anticipated event of the year is, beyond doubt, the atmospheric Christmas Market in Piazza Città, one of the five original Christmas markets in South Tyrol.
